Normally, I always show up at events with 3 or more pens. I have this strange phobia of my pen not working, others may be missing pens, etc. So there I was, at the VIP Marianne Williamson event taking notes and I have this compulsion that I must write this quote down.
All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.

As I was writing down the quote, my pen dried up completely. It is the first time I EVER showed up with only one pen. It was newly purchased for this event. I was forced to put my book and my pen down and just be. Precisely what the quote is speaking to.
The next thing I know, I jumped up to the microphone to share. I would never do this. It is so out of character. I showed Marianne Williamson my book and told her what had happened with the ink drying up. She coyly asks the all knowing question, “So you think there is some significance here”? Everyone started to laugh. My hand holding the pen starts shaking uncontrollably, and she reaches for my pen and book. She proceeds to effortlessly sign her autograph on my notepad and of course the pen writes. She looks deeply at me and says: “Well, it looks like it’s writing now”, matter-of-factly. Every soul in the room evolved together in that moment.
